Am 19.Oktober 2007 erscheint die De/Vision CD "Da * Mals".
1988
bestand die Band De/Vision noch aus den Mitgliedern Markus, Stefan,
Steffen und Thomas. Wortspiele und Wortwitze waren an der Tagesordnung.
Aussagen in Interviews, dass "De/Vision" etwas mit Teilung zu tun hat,
man sich mit dem "D" an Depeche Mode orientiert, um im selben CD-Fach
gefunden zu werden, führten letztendlich zu dem Albumtitel "Da * Mals"
mit Werken aus den Jahren 1988 – 1992.
Inhaltlich geht es um die Ur-Zeiten von De/Vision, die ersten Aufnahmen der Band.
1990
begab man sich in ein kleines Wohnzimmer, auch Studio genannt, in der
Nähe von Giessen, um ein Pauschalangebot für eine Vinylmaxiproduktion
wahrzunehmen.
Ergebnisse dieser Produktion waren die Songs
"Your hands on my skin", "Ignore me", "You want to kill me" und der
"Skin mix". Das Vinyl ist schon lange nicht mehr verfügbar und liegt
nur wenigen Fans vor.
1991 dann der nächste Studiobesuch, und
diesmal war es schon amtlicher, denn es ging in das Atom-H Studio nach
Düsseldorf, wo die Herren von "Die Krupps" der gerade zum Trio
geschrumpften Band De/Vision (ohne Stefan) bei den Aufnahmen zur Seite
standen. Heraus kamen die Songs "Boy on the street", "The scenery
deludes", "What we have to learn", "Plight" sowie eine echte
Maxiversion (wie man sie heutzutage kaum noch findet) von "Boy on the
street".
Ohne fremde Hilfe kam man hingegen bei der Aufnahme
vom Song "Always proved" aus, der 1991 aufgenommen wurde. 1992 wurde
ein Studio in der Nähe von München getestet, das Ergebnis war der Song
"Try to forget" in seiner Ur-Version.
Dem Label Synthetic
Product Records wurde erlaubt, eine solche „Best of“ Zusammenstellung
frühestens im Jahre 2007 zu veröffentlichen. Nun, in Zeiten der
Synthiepop-Flaute und der Erinnerung an „Damals“, wird diese endlich
veröffentlicht.
Greifbare Songs mit Strukturen, unverzerrter
Gesang und unverzichtbar: Klare gespielte Melodien. Die Sounds sind
nicht so wichtig, jedoch recht angenehm hörbar und übersichtlich.
Wer
also schon immer mal wissen wollte, wie De/Vision angefangen haben, wie
Soft Techno Musik (heute sagt man: Old-School-Synthpop) aus den frühen
90er klingt, wie De/Vision ohne Produzenten klingen und warum es
De/Vision damals so schwer hatten, dem (aber nicht nur dem) empfehlen
wir diese Veröffentlichung.
Die ersten Reaktionen
auf das Album zeigen, dass „Da * Mals“ den Nerv der Fans getroffen hat
– nicht nur, was die Musik betrifft, sondern auch den Humor.

Der
Erstauflage liegt eine CD mit Werken vom De/Vision Ur-Mitglied Stefan
Blender bei, der 1991 die Band verließ. Unter dem Namen "Sequence 2"
sind hier Songideen zu hören, die jeden Synthiepopfan erfreuen. Stefan
Blender und Lorenz Macke (Synthetic Product Records) waren anfangs
Brieffreunde und haben gemeinsam das Projekt De/Vision vor 20 Jahren
angeschoben.
Mit der 50.Veröffentlichung auf dem Label
Synthetic Product Records (15 Jahre nach der ersten Veröffentlichung)
wird Stefan Blender zumindest etwas gewürdigt. Unvollendete Ideen von
dem Solo-Projekt „Sequence 2“, die der Öffentlichkeit nicht weiter
vorenthalten bleiben sollen. Ein ganz besonderes Dokument ist der Song
"Tears of missing days", basierend auf einer Kassettenaufnahme von 1988.

diese Band müßtet Ihr eigentlich schon kennen. DE/VISION starteten
als eine Synthie-Pop-Band und schufen mit der Zeit ihre eigene
Definition von moderner progressiver Popmusik. Für einge Leute sind
DE/VISION eine der größten Synthie-Pop-Bands der Welt. DE/VISION haben
ein großes Standing nach 15 Jahren in Deutschland / Europa und der
Welt.
1993 unterschrieben Ihren ersten Indie-Plattenvertrag
bei Strange Ways Records, dann wechselten im Jahre 1997 sie zu Wea
Records und im Jahre 2001 zu Drakkar Entertainment . Einige
Veröffentlichungen erscheinen aber auf SPR.
Anläßlich dieser
Band wurde das Label gegründet. Die erste Maxi-Single "your hands on my
skin" ist schon lange ausverkauft. Es folgte die EP "Boy on the street"
die noch immer von SPR über SPR / Indigo erhältlich ist. Danach wurden
2 Video&CD Boxen in Kooperation mit Strange Ways verkauft, die
beide ausverkauft sind. Die dort enthaltenen Live-CDs sind über SPR als
"Live95&96" weiterhin verfügbar gemacht. Jetzt folgt auch das
Videomaterial auf der DVD "Pictures of the past"

Warnung vor DVD Bootlegs ! |

In letzter Zeit erreichen uns E-Mails, dass die De/Vision „Pictures of the past“
- die Qualität der Videos schlecht ist
- nicht alle Videos vorhanden sind !!!
- nur eine Seite Artwork und diese auch noch schlecht kopiert - der CD-Aufdruck schlecht ist
- die Menümusik fehlt
- die Menüs anders aussehen
- (nicht abspielbar ist)
= dann habt Ihr ein BOOTLEG (Counterfeit= illegale Nachpressung) gekauft.
Bitte
MELDET Euch wenn Ihr ein solches Exemplar angeboten bekommen habt, denn
die Verbreitung von solchen Exemplaren ist strafbar , nicht zuletzt
weil sie einen großen Schaden anrichten.

- ein beidseitiges Cover hat
- einen 10stelligen Downloadcode im Artwork
- der DVD Aufdruck ordentlich gleichmäßig ist
- das Hauptmenu auf der DVD 6 Menupunkte hat
- das Menu kleine Filme beinhaltet (anstatt Standbildern)
- das Menu mit Musik unterlegt ist
= dann habt Ihr eine legale Pressung gekauft.
Illegale
Nachpressungen passieren leider auch mit anderen neuen
Veröffentlichungen von De/Vision. Ihr solltet also aufpassen wo und vom
wem Ihr Euch die De/Vision Veröffentlichungen kauft. Ein paar Euro will
jeder sparen, aber wenn die Qualität leidet macht das nicht wirklich
soviel Sinn. Abgesehen davon gehen alle Beteiligten leer aus. Im oben
genanten Fall entgehen dem Label (und teilweise auch der Band)
insgesamt 5000 Euro.

|
Im Jahre 2002 hielt man es für besser diese Maxi nicht zu
verschieben, im Jahre 2003 ist sie dann erschienen und hat sich besser
als die Live-CD verkauft. Ein klares Zeichen der Fans De/Vision.

Release of De/Vision's CD 'Da * Mals' on 19 October 2007
In 1988, the band De/Vision still consisted of members Markus, Stefan,
Steffen and Thomas. Puns and word jokes were order of the day. Statements in
interviews that De/Vision has something to do with division, that they chose
the letter 'D' to be found on the same CD shelf as Depeche Mode eventually
lead to the album title 'Da * Mals' with songs from the years
1988 - 1992.
As regards to the CD's contents, it's about the beginning of De/Vision, the
first recordings of the band. In 1990, they ensconced themselves in a small
living room, also called studio, close to Gießen to accept an all-inclusive
offer for production of a vinyl maxi single.
Songs like 'Your hands on my skin', 'Ignore me', 'You want to kill me' and
the 'Skin mix' were results of this production. The vinyl is no longer
available and only in the hands of a few fans.
Their next visit to a studio was in 1991 - Stefan has already left the band
- and this time it was more official because they went to the Atom-H Studio
in Dusseldorf where 'Die Krupps' assisted them with the recordings. This all
resulted in the songs 'Boy on the street', 'The scenery deludes', 'What we
have to learn', 'Plight' as well as a real maxi version (it hardly exists
anymore these days) of 'Boy on the street'.
Without outside support, however, the song 'Always proved' was recorded in
the year 1991.
In 1992, the band tested their luck in a studio near Munich. The result was
the track 'Try to forget' in its original version.
The label Synthetic Product Records was allowed to release such a 'Best of'
compilation in 2007 at the earliest. Now in the times of a synthpop lull and
to recall memories of the past, this CD will finally be released. Songs with
structures, undistorted voice and undeniable: clearly played melodies. The
sounds are not really important, but quite audible and orderly in
arrangement.
For all those who always wanted to know how De/Vision started, to experience
soft techno music (today it is called Old-School-Synthpop) of the early 90s,
how De/Vision sounds without producer and why it was so difficult for
De/Vision in their infancy, we recommend (but not only to those curious)
this release.
The first responses to this album show that 'Da * Mals' is the fans' kind of
thing - not only what the music expresses but also the band's humour.

With the first edition, there also comes a CD with the work of De/Vision
ex-member Stefan Blender who left the band in 1991. Under the name of
'Sequence 2', you get to hear some song samples that please every synthpop
fan. Stefan Blender and Lorenz Macke (Synthetic Product Records) were pen
pals at the beginning and encouraged the project De/Vision 20 years ago.
With the 50th release at the label Synthetic Product Records (15 years after
the first release) Stefan Blender will finally be appreciated at least a
bit. The unfinished ideas of the solo project 'Sequence 2' should not be
withheld from the public any more. A very special feature is the song 'Tears
of missing days' based on a tape recording of 1988.

ou should know this band. Started as a synthpop band and created now
their own definition of modern progressive-pop music. For some people
one of the biggest synth-pop bands in world. DE/VISION have a big
standing in Germany / Europe and the world.
In 1993 the signe
their first Indie-record-deal at Strange Ways Records, in 1997 they
changed to Wea Records and in 2001 to Drakkar Entertainment. Some
releases are still on SPR.
SPR was founded because of this band.
In 1990 SPR released their for Vinyl Maxi-Single "your hands on my
skin" which is sold out/ out of print. Later the MCD "Boy on the
street" followed, and this MCD is still available. SPR released in
cooperation with Strange Ways records 2 Video&CD boxes (VHS) which
are both sold out. SPR will make the Live-CDs as "Live95&96" still
available. Now the videomaterial is available on DVD "Pictures of the
past"

In the last weeks we got some E-Mails , that the De/Vision DVD „Pictures of the past“
- the quality is bad
- not EVERY Video is on the DVD / there are videos missing
- only one page of the artwork is there and the artwork quality is bad
- the DVD-Print is bad
- the music behind the menu is not there
- the menu looks different, have only 4 points
- (the DVD is in a black box)
- (the DVD is not sealed)
- (it maybe can't be played)
-> This is a B O O T L E G !
Do not buy it ! Give it back !
Please
contact us, if you have a bootleg or if someone offers you a bootleg.
The trading of such bootlegs are highly illegal and violates the rights
and is criminal. It also cause a big demage, because the wrong people
make the money.

- the quality of the DVD print

then you have a legal copy ! Enjoy it, everything is okay.

Bootlegging
happened also with several other recent De/Vision releases. You should
care from where you buy your material. We know that everyone want's to
save money, but if the quality is bad and the DVD is not complete - it
doesnt help anymore. In this case, the demage is more than
5000Euro/6000 us dollar.
You as a buyer should be happy about your product, so check the seller and the material carefully !

In
year 2002 there was not enough time for releassing this MCD, so the mcd
was released in year 2003. This mcd sold better than the live-CD. A
sign from the de/vision fans adressed to the band.
